During the summer of 2021, ACCSES invited Michael Odioso, an Ohio attorney, to join an ACCSES member call to discuss legislation under consideration, and ultimately passed by the Ohio General Assembly, that provided as follows: “Every two years, the president of the senate and speaker of the house of representatives shall establish a joint committee to examine the activities of the state’s protection and advocacy system and client assistance program.”  That Joint Committee convened in December 2022, and on April 11, issued its recommendations.  Mike will be back with us to talk about the process and the resulting recommendations.  We anticipate a robust discussion regarding the role of protection and advocacy organizations in states beyond Ohio.  This event is only open to ACCSES members.
