Virtual Annual Conference

You are not going to want to miss the upcoming ACCSES Shaping the Future Virtual Summer Conference!  In fact, we have such a robust line-up, we are kicking it off a day early with a special session at 2:00PM Monday, July 19, during which Kate McSweeny will present on the latest information from D.C.!  This session will be open to conference registrants and all ACCSES members.  A separate link will be provided to register for this session shortly beforehand.

The Shaping the Future Conference officially opens on Tuesday, July 20 and will run six days, July 20-22 and August 3-5.  We are excited by the speakers who have accepted our invitation.  There are too many to list – but check out the AGENDA!  We will have speakers from the Department of Education, the Department of Labor, Congress, AbilityOne, SUPRA, and national associations, including the National Association of State Medicaid Directors and the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals.  We will have speakers from three different universities – Georgia Tech, Wake Forest School of Medicine, and the University of Cincinnati.  Numerous speakers from the private sector will discuss ways to expand options for individuals with disabilities and to increase our presence as a community.  And of course, several providers will share the important work they are doing in their communities.  We will get the latest on the recently approved Alzheimer’s medication and learn the latest on epilepsy.  There also will be two sessions on How to Create (and Fund) a Registered Apprenticeship Program, which alone should be worth the price of admission!  As previously announced, we are particularly excited about our keynote speaker, Futurist, Alexandra Whittington, who will share her perspective on the post-COVID world, among other important topics.  This conference is going to be interactive, educational, and a rollicking good time.

We know it is summer and everyone is busy, so we have set a reasonable registration fee of $299 per person for the first two staff members of an organization and then $100 per person for any additional staff from the same organization for the full conference.  Individual weeks may be purchased for $175 per person, per week.  We encourage you to include rising leaders of your organizations!  Register today!

We are excited and really looking forward to the ACCSES Shaping the Future Summer Conference and Annual Meeting.
